A Community Summer Kick-Off Event

Get ready to lace up and celebrate the start of summer at the Fernie Fun 5 — a community fun run (or walk!)!

This event is all about bringing people together, getting outside, and moving in a way that feels good — no matter your pace or fitness level.

Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, a total beginner, or just looking for a fun excuse to walk with friends and family, this event is for you!

Choose between a 5KM route for runners and walkers, or the family-friendly 2KM option — perfect for kids or anyone wanting a gentler cruise. Cross the finish line and stick around for a BBQ celebration, with proceeds supporting a local cause, and prizes!!

Entry: 5KM - $35

2KM Adult & children 12+ - $15

2KM Children 11 and under, with an adult - $7

This day isn’t about podiums, it’s a low-pressure, high-fun event designed for Every Body — all paces, all levels welcome.

There are:

  • No timers (but if you’d like to time yourself, please do!)

  • No pressure

  • No “runners only” vibes

  • A post-run BBQ and community picnic

  • Prizes!

  • All the fun

Strollers welcome. Friends welcome. Costumes are very welcome.

THE ROUTE

Starting and ending in Annex Park, both the 5KM and 2KM routes will take you along the beautiful Elk River and back along the dyke trail to the finish line, where the celebratory finish line party and BBQ awaits!
